What to Expect During your visit

You will find a multi-cultural group of people from various Christian (non-denominational), social and economic backgrounds coming together with a passionate desire to grow deeper with God and with each other exhibiting the two greatest commandments found in John 13:34-35.  “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Childcare

Nursery care is provided for infants and toddlers during our the service times (10:30 - 12:30 PM).  It is our goal to provide this service for the Sunday school hour as well, so be looking for this addition soon.

LifeSavers Children’s Ministry

Elementary School-aged Children participate with adults during the song portion of our service. We encourage the parents to help their children engage in worship through singing, flags, and dance.  After worship the children are dismissed for teaching time.

Facilities

Freedom Fellowship Church meets at 4320 Dale Blvd, behind the CVS Pharmacy and adjacent to the AMF Bowling Alley.  Our facility gives us great visibility and opportunity for community outreaches.  Many families who were apart of our church plant were instrumental in the renovations.  There are plenty of restrooms, seating and much more.

Length of service

We are honored to have so many backgrounds of Sunday service time experiences.  Some want it short like a drive through fast food restaurant, and others want no time restrictions at all (let’s just go where the spirit leads).  Both can be unhealthy to church growth.  Our goal is that people will love it here and want to come back.  Our services usually run about two hours.  This includes announcements, greeting time, offering, and prayer for our children before they are dismissed for Children's ministry.  We pack a lot into this two hour service timeframe.   We believe this service time provides for a wonderful time together to worship and connect with one another.  It is our goal that everyone when then are with us will say that “they have been with Jesus”, and will come back and bring their family and friends.

Music

You will see that music is very important to us.  We make it our aim to be as diverse as our families are.  We love to worship.  On a typical Sunday morning we will worship with 3-5 songs depending on the leading of the worship leader and pastor.  Our goal is to be the bridge between the Holy Spirit and the heart of the hearers.  Our instruments vary as well, but normally we have keyboard, drums, base and vocals.

Worship experience

The service may include quiet times of waiting in God’s presence, Scripture readings, testimony, or prophetic words.  There may also be leading through praise by the worship team, as well as spontaneous song by the team or congregation.

Prayer

Prayer is central to our devotion and dependence upon God to be with us and lead us.  We begin every service with prayer.  We also pray for our children, and for the offering.  We will also pray during worship and at other times as the Lord directs.

Giving

We believe that tithes and offerings are essential to our worship to God.  We teach that a starting place for the tithe is 10 percent, but as an act of worship we give God 100 percent.  Everything we have belongs to God.  1 Chronicles 29:11-12 reveals in a prayer that God owns everything and we should honor Him with the first fruits of our financial treasures as well as our time and talents.  “Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, And You are exalted as head over all. 12 Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.”  So here at FFC you can expect to see a time of offering during our worship service.

Spiritual gifts

It is our desire here at FFC that every born-again believer knows his or her Spiritual gift (s) and there is room for them to serve using them in the body of Christ.  We believe the Spiritual Gifts have two primary purposes, 1) to glorify God, and 2) to build the body (Rm. 12; 1 Cor. 12; Eph. 4:11-13).  It is our aim to equip God’s family to know how to use their special giftings to serve our growing family and community.

Relevant messages

We believe that the word of God should be preached with the goal of pointing people to God through Jesus (Jn. 14:6).  We believe that the Holy Spirit gives the direction of our Father’s heart.  The Pastor is the primary communicator of God’s word.  In addition the elders assist sharing the word of God at least once or twice a month.  The messages are relevant to the vision of Changing lives, changing the community, changing the world.  Therefore there will always be a opportunity for those who do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ to invite Him into their hearts.  In addition, there will always be an opportunity for followers of Christ to go deeper in their walks through acts of repentance, obedience, forgiveness etc., as the Holy Spirit leads.
