Worship

Mission and Purpose

Worship is appropriately responding to our loving God. Our mission is to facilitate a true encounter with God that results in living lives of worship, lasting change that glorifies God, and raising up a prophetic voice that prepares us for the Word of the Lord.

Living a Life of Worship

We have been called to live a life of worship. Sunday morning worship comes out of an overflow of what God has done in our worship throughout the week!

Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.”

Lasting Change that Glorifies God

We do not have a music ministry.  We have an Isaiah 61:1-3 ministry!  The world needs the Presence of God!

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

Preparing the Way for the Word of the Lord

We have come to love the title of minstrels.  Pastor Kurt spoke this word over us and we have joyfully accepted this calling of God on our ministry!  Worship is an exchange that shifts the atmosphere.  We are preparing the way of the Lord!!

2 Kings 3:15 “But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him.

Freedom in Worship

At Freedom, we use all forms of scriptural worship!
1 Timothy 2:8 – Lifting of Hands
Psalm 47:1 – Clapping our Hands
Exodus 33:10 – Standing
Psalm 95:6 – Kneeling or Bowing
Exodus 15:21, Revelations 5:9 – Singing
Psalms 150:3-5 – Playing instruments
Psalm 66:1 – Shouting
2 Samuel 6:14-15 – Dancing

When Do We Meet?

The worship team meets the first Saturday of every month from 9:30 am – 11:30 am.  God has called us into a season of writing new worship songs together as a worship team.  We use this time to worship together, to write new songs, to fellowship with one another, and to disciple one another.  We are deeply committed to our relationships to God and to each other!

We also meet every Sunday morning at 9 am to prepare ourselves for worship each week!
